Frequently asked questions
My phone can't find or control my AC. Why?
The App works only on Android devices that have a built-in Infrared (IR) Blaster. If your phone has no IR hardware, it cannot send remote signals. Check your phone's specifications. If your device does have IR, make sure you point the top edge of the phone toward the air conditioner and that nothing blocks the line of sight.
How do I set up my air conditioner?
Open the App, tap to add a device, select your AC brand, then test the available remote profiles by pressing the power button. When the AC responds, save that profile. You can rename the device and assign it to a room (living room, bedroom, office).
My brand isn't in the list, or the profile doesn't work.
We support 50+ brands and multiple remote profiles per brand. If the first profile doesn't respond, try the next one — different models of the same brand can use different IR codes. If none work, email us the brand and model and we'll try to add support.
Does the App upload my data?
Your remote settings stay on your device. Because the App is free and ad-supported, our advertising and analytics partners (Google AdMob, AppLovin MAX, Firebase, Adjust) process technical data such as your Advertising ID and device information. We do not collect your contacts, SMS, precise location, camera, or microphone. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I control ads or opt out of personalized ads?
When required, the App shows a consent prompt before personalized ads. You can change your choice in the App, or opt out at the system level via Settings → Privacy → Ads. You can also reset your Advertising ID there.
Is the App free? Are there subscriptions?
Yes, the App is completely free to use and is supported by ads. There are currently no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
The App keeps getting stopped in the background.
Some manufacturers — Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung — aggressively close background apps. If you have trouble, open Settings → Apps → AC Remote Control → Battery and allow unrestricted / no battery-optimization, so the App runs reliably.
How do I revoke a permission?
Go to Settings → Apps → AC Remote Control → Permissions and adjust any permission. Note that disabling network access will prevent ads and analytics but will not stop IR control, which works offline.
Still need help?
Send us the brand and model of your air conditioner and a short description of the issue, and we'll get back to you.
